Following the opening of the first segment of the Tarlac-Pangasinan-La Union Expressway to Gerona, Tarlac, last week, the Department of Public Works and Highways foresees that the approximately 32km stretch from Gerona to Rosales, Pangasinan, will be open by July 2014.
According to DPWH secretary Rogelio Singson, since the Gerona to Rosales section is 90% complete, the July 2014 target date is achievable due to the summer season next year "where good weather condition is expected."
The agency added that work on the 13.72km segment from Rosales to Urdaneta, Pangasinan--which also includes the construction of the Agno Viaduct—has started this year. As for the 25.86km section completing the TPLEX all the way to Rosario, La Union, the DPWH hopes to finish it by 2016.
Other than the now-operating exits in Tarlac, Victoria and Gerona, TPLEX will also have exits in Paniqui and Moncada in Tarlac; Rosales, Urdaneta City and Pozorrubio in Pangasinan; and Rosario in La Union.
So, did you get to use the TPLEX last weekend?
