Are Grab and Uber's accreditation papers missing? Apparently so, says Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board (LTFRB) member Aileen Lizada.

According to a report by Rappler, the LTFRB official said that the agency could not locate the two TNCs' accreditation papers. "When we assumed office, for the record, the accreditation papers of Grab and Uber were missing," she said during an interview with dzMM.

Lizada said that the aforementioned paperwork was with former LTFRB executive director Roberto Cabrera, who denied having them.

Former LTFRB board member Ariel Inton, while noting that the missing paperwork was a road block, says that the agency may ask Grab and Uber for new copies if needed.

This mix-up is just the latest development in what has been a tumultuous week for both the LTFRB and Transportation Network Companies (TNC). Last July 11, the LTFRB announced it would be cracking down on unlicensed Uber and Grab vehicles, causing uproar from the Philippine commuting public. Both parties have come to a compromise since then, with Senator JV Ejercito filing a bill that would further clarify regulations regarding TNCs.

Hopefully, the LTFRB will adjust accordingly while it figures out what to do regarding the missing paperwork.
