Philippine-made Ford Focus is Top Gear Indonesia's Car of the Year

TopGear.com.ph Car News Philippine-made Ford Focus bags Car of the Year award in Indonesia

The Philippine-made Ford Focus TDCi bested four other finalists in the recent Top Gear Indonesia Car of the Year Awards, proving once again that locally-assembled cars are of world-class quality.

"We're both honoured and proud to have Ford Focus TDCi named 'Car of the Year' by Top Gear Indonesia," Ford Motor Indonesia president Will Angove said. "The Focus TDCi represents an incredibly sporty vehicle that combines style, comfort, fuel efficiency and technology to deliver exceptional appeal."

Ford said Top Gear Indonesia cited the Focus TDCi's "substantial design improvements, particularly the significant upgrade to its ergonomic interior" as its winning factors. The magazine also said the Ford Focus TDCI's Duratorq turbodiesel engine and new six-speed double-clutch PowerShift automatic transmission makes the five-door hatchback a versatile performer in various driving situations--whether it's climbing, passing, cornering, or simply dealing with the stop-and-go city traffic.

Ford also quoted Top Gear Indonesia saying the Focus TDCi has an "expressive and contemporary" design and is "a pleasure to drive."

As Car of the Year, the Philippine-made Ford Focus TDCI is on the cover of Top Gear Indonesia's February issue.

"The Top Gear Indonesia 'Car of the Year' award is another testament of Ford's commitment to delivering a world-class lineup of Ford vehicles to Indonesian consumers," Angove said.

The Ford Focus TDCi is just one of the award-winning vehicles made by Ford in its Sta. Rosa plant. Last year, the same Ford Focus was named the best diesel-fed hatchback while the Ford Escape was cited as the best gasoline-fueled sport-utility vehicle during the Bangkok International Motor Show.

Ang mahal ng vehicles dito tapos ang liit ng sweldo at ang mahal ng petroleum products kaya di maka-afford mga Pilipino ng matino at safe na sasakyan.
