Manila International Auto Show visitors through the years have grown accustomed to watching precision driver Russ Swift perform his magic behind the wheel of a Subaru--usually an Impreza model. It was Motor Image Pilipinas that brought Swift to MIAS, and the Subaru distributor has made it a yearly side attraction of the show.
But truth be told, seeing the same driving tricks replicated again and again can get pretty boring after a while. Even more so if the same car is being used. The Impreza is special, yes, but we're not sure it's the type of car you want to see doing donuts and J-turns over and over again.
So, what makes Russ Swift's stunt show at this weekend's MIAS (April 4 to 7 at World Trade Center, Pasay City) unique? Well, how about this: He will be using a World Rally Blue BRZ with manual transmission. Good enough?
Of course it is. So be sure to pass by the Russ Swift/BRZ show once inside MIAS. Entrance ticket costs only P50 (on top of the P100 you pay to enter MIAS). We don't care if we've seen practically every trick up Russ's sleeve--a BRZ is a BRZ. And a BRZ on just two wheels is a sight to behold, we imagine.
The Russ Swift Stunt Show will be held three times each day of the motor show: from 1:30pm to 2:30pm, from 3:30pm to 4:30pm, and from 5:30pm to 6:30pm.
See you at the show!
