Quezon Avenue underpass to finally open Sept. 28

TopGear.com.ph Philippine Car News - Quezon Avenue underpass to open September 28

The horrendous traffic jams at the corner of Quezon Avenue and Araneta Avenue could soon be over as the underpass being built underneath the intersection will be opened to the public this coming Friday, September 28. (At least, that's the plan.)

The announcement was made on the Facebook page of President Benigno Aquino III, which is manned by the New Media Team under the Presidential Communications Operations Office.

The announcement comes nearly four months after the Department of Public Works and Highways informed the public that the construction of the underpass was ahead of schedule and was 70.53-percent complete.

Let's hope the traffic does improve in the area as trips to the surplus car parts haven of Banawe Avenue have become a bane since work on the underpass started in June 2011.

To those who regularly pass through the area, congratulations. This is one less reason to succumb to road rage.
