Keiichi Tsuchiya and his crew

It's a good week to be a drifting enthusiast: Drift King Keiichi Tsuchiya has arrived in Manila for an action-packed weekend that's guaranteed to please even the most jaded motorsports fan. The popular Japanese drifter is scheduled to participate in a grand event called "Bumper To Bumper 9 + Drift Muscle Philippines + Drift King" on December 7 and 8 (Saturday and Sunday) at the Quirino Grandstand parade grounds.

According to the event's organizer, Jonathan Chio, Tsuchiya arrived early this afternoon with his crew. The photo above was taken as the group was about to board their Manila-bound plane from Japan (Tsuchiya is standing, third from right). As you read this, the group is expected to be at Quirino Grandstand for an ocular inspection of the event venue.

Tomorrow morning (December 6), Tsuchiya and his crew will have a closed-door practice session at Clark International Speedway. In the afternoon, they will return to Quirino Grandstand for the track design and final ocular inspection.

On Saturday (December 7), the gates will open at 1pm. Tsuchiya will be introduced to the crowd at 2pm. The drifting competition will commence immediately after this, and is expected to end by 5pm. A shotgun ride is scheduled from 5:15pm to 6:30pm.

On Sunday (December 8), the gates will again open at 1pm with the same sequence of activities.

Chio told TopGear.com.ph that Tsuchiya will drive a Toyota 86 throughout the event.

Aside from the chance to meet the Drift King, lucky spectators will also get to meet the Okinawa Drifters and the Tokyo Drifters.

Note that the drifting competition is just one of the highlights of the two-day weekend event. There's also a car show, a drive-in movie, a concert by the B2B Babes, a DJ party, and a bikini fashion show among others.

How much is the admission fee? The general admission is P50. This is for one day only and includes admission to the car show and a free seat in the upper box area of Quirino Grandstand. The VIP admission, meanwhile, costs P300. This is good for two days and includes admission to the car show, a free seat in the lower box area of Quirino Grandstand, a free 2014 "Bumper To Bumper" calendar, and free access to the VIP tent.
