Formula 1 is in Malaysia this weekend for the 16th race of the 2016 season, but before getting back into the cockpit of his Ferrari SF16-H, Kimi Raikkonen had other driving duties to attend to first--behind the wheel of a fire truck. And we have to say, out of all the drivers on the current F1 grid, there’s no better person for a firefighting job than the one and only Iceman.

This off-track task is for the ‘Job Swap’ series by Shell, the Italian team’s Innovation Partner for over 60 years. Its V-Power fuels, which are continually developed for and on the track through Ferrari’s F1 program, are designed to provide engines with maximum performance by keeping the internals protected from wear and tear. The fuel company aims to highlight this by showing how protection and preparation are likewise necessary to achieving maximum performance in two very different jobs: car racing and firefighting.

Swapping cockpits with Kimi was Mohd Uzair bin Abdullah, who has been with Malaysia’s Fire and Rescue Department for 15 years now. Of his job, he says, “It is a big responsibility. A rescuer needs both physical and mental strength.” Which, when it gets right down to it, a racing driver needs as well.

So, how did the Iceman-turned-Fireman fare in driving an 18-ton fire truck through an obstacle course--and putting out a fire afterwards? Watch the video and see for yourself. As for Uzair, he clearly had the time of his life behind the wheel of a Ferrari California T after getting some nifty driving tips from no less than the 2007 F1 world champion.
