Must be a great day to be a policeman: After the DILG has announced that cops may have been involved in a kidnapping or robbery incident last week--in broad daylight, lest we forget--comes this awesome news that the "gunman" presented by the Quezon City police two weeks ago as having killed race driver Enzo Pastor, has officially retracted his "confession," according to a report by Philippine Star.
The newspaper said that the supposed killer--identified as PO2 Edgar Angel--has submitted a "counter-affidavit" to the Department of Justice to completely reverse his earlier "judicial confession," which tagged Domingo "Sandy" de Guzman III as the mastermind in the killing.
The report added that Angel has revealed that the QC police merely forced him to make the confession and in the process implicate de Guzman as well as Pastor's wife, Dalia Guerrero. Claiming he was only "following a script," Angel said he really had "no knowledge" of the Enzo Pastor murder case.
If this is true, what else can we still believe in this country? The cops even presented pieces of "evidence," including the P50,000 in cash which de Guzman had supposedly given to Angel during the entrapment operation. The money was supposed to have been the "bonus" de Guzman had promised Angel for carrying out his "mission."
