The first leg of the 2016 Toyota Vios Cup season was one marked by new things. Toyota Motor Philippines introduced racing fans to new drivers, an entirely new level of competition and even a new company president. Could the event maintain its success with all the adjustments?

Fortunately, despite all the new faces and changes in format, the event's fun vibe remained intact. The newly introduced Super Sporting class was a breath of fresh air in terms of driver skill and precision. Joyce Pring was um, Joyce Pring, and both Andres Calma and Allan Uy put on one hell of a show.

The season is just beginning to warm up, so we're expecting a whole lot more excitement during the second leg, which is happening this weekend in Alabang. In the meantime, check out some of the highlights from the season opener in the video above. Yes, it features Joyce Pring.
