Richard Gutierrez and his bodyguard were injured while the actor's assistant was killed after figuring in an accident.

In its report, entertainment website PEP.ph cited a source saying that Gutierrez was the one driving when the car slammed on to a post at the Santa Rosa-Tagaytay Road in Silang, Cavite.

Gutierrez was reportedly driving an R35 GT-R - the latest version in Nissan's sports car lineup.

The R35 is estimated to be worth P6.5 million.

It is not called a "supercar" for nothing since it is capable of running a top speed of 310 kilometers per hour.

As of this writing, no information was available regarding the speed at which Gutierrez was driving when the accident took place.

A video aired by GMA News showed a felled post and a totally wrecked silver sportscar.

  • pat says I pity the man. I hear the one of the aides are dead. Tsk tsk. The speed? It should have been fast. You need a fairly quick speed to smash through a concrete post and 3 coconut trees, if I'm not mistaken. As for the car, that just added to one of the already many reported GTR crashes worldwide. • imacarnut says nice cool fast car, but bad accident... It must be that hard too handle a GTR to crash like that, or someone should relearn his skills in driving. (23 May 2009)
  • Iancmv says Hi-tech, good handling, full safety equiped car...Wreckless driver...No matter how safe / stable a car is, it's still the driver that steps on the gas pedal. (23 May 2009)

  • red says he was definitely driving really fast to wreck a GTR, its a super car, its loaded with safety features and its one of the most stable super cars ever built. he shouldn't have been driving THAT fast with other people on board if he couldn't handle a GTR... he should get a (25 May 2009)

  • JR says for me, running at a very fast speed (i.e. 180kph-220kph) is not bad specially if your car was made to go fast like the GTR. But of course, it depends on the weather and road condition. Let's say the speed of richard's GTR before it crashed was 140 kph. It's very dangerous to do it in Santa Rosa-Tagaytay Road in Silang, Cavite. it's like a speeding car in a zig-zag road! you can safely hit up to the GTR's top speed if you're in NLEX, Star Tollgate or SCTEX. • CaptSlow0310 says so he survived. . . what a pity. . . he doesn't deserve that car. . . driving like a maniac & not responsible enough to practice road safety by having his passenger buckle up. . . why should the guilty always survive & the innocent get killed? (09 June 2009)
