Subaru gears up for the 2009 Impreza Challenge

Forget about your checkbook. All you need to own a brand new Subaru Impreza WRX is the palm of your right hand.
Motor Image Pilipinas, the exclusive distributor of Subaru vehicles in the country, brings back the Manila leg of the Subaru Impreza Challenge--the qualifying round for the Subaru competition in Singapore.
Participants in the Subaru Impreza Challenge just need to place the palm of their right hand on decals stuck on Subaru Impreza cars for as long as possible.
If you think it's easy, think again.
Challengers are not allowed to eat or drink while in the competition, although they can do these during the five-minute breaks that happens every six hours while the contest is running.
The last ten men standing in the Manila qualifier from September 12 to 13 at the Bonifacio High Street get to participate in the final round in Singapore where they will compete with other winners from various parts of the Asia Pacific region.
Last year, it took George Lee 81 hours and 32 minutes of holding on to the Subaru Impreza before he brought home a brand new WRX worth P1.8 million. He beat 399 participants, including ten Pinoys--the last of whom kept his hand on the Subaru for 62 hours and 53 minutes.
Registration for the Subaru Impreza Challenge runs until August 31 at the Subaru Greenhills Showroom in EDSA. To be eligible, participants must be at least 21 years old by January 1, 2009, a Philippine passport holder, and in good health condition.
