For most advertisers, using a funny plot or breathtaking visual effects is the way to go when it comes to placing a spot in a Super Bowl telecast. Lexus isn't one of them. The Japanese luxury brand apparently believes in simplicity and straightforwardness. For the big game on February 5, Lexus is airing "The Beast," a no-frills ad for the all-new GS.
"This spot looks very different than anything Lexus has done before, and demonstrates to the 50-million-strong Super Bowl audience that 2012 will be a breakthrough year for Lexus," said Brian Smith, Lexus's vice president of marketing.
