Toyota Motor Philippines has just found a new way to spruce up its already top-selling commercial vehicle as it introduced the Innova Sport Runner in the local market.

The Innova Sport Runner features an improved sporty exterior, thanks to its new overfenders, side skirts, rear spoiler, new front fog lamp, and 15-inch alloy wheels shod with wider 225/55 R15 tires.

The new Innova variant comes with the Sport Runner badge and in exclusive black or bronze exterior colors. Despite the sport-oriented looks, Toyota Philippines said the Innova Sport Runner retains the passenger car-like comfort the Innova is known for.

"While the Innova has been consistently performing very well since its 2005 introduction, averaging 900 units per month in sales, we understand that there are customers who are also looking for a tougher or sportier look that will compliment the Innova's driving performance and riding comfort," said Raymond Rodriguez, Toyota Philippines first vice president for vehicle sales. "We are confident that this new variant will further solidify the Innova's position as the best-selling MPV, and will contribute to Toyota Philippines' overall sales leadership."

The Toyota Innova Sport Runner comes with a D4-D 2.5-liter diesel engine in either manual transmission at P999,000 or automatic transmission P1.064 million.

hmmm... how about a Fortuner SR?
  • maranello_5775 Jan 13 2010 @ 08:10pm
I mean a distinct variant like the innova sr since every fortuner can be a TRD if the owner wants the expensive add-ons

I'll take the V variant any day... this one doesn't look right. @Ted: Innova is not cheap its affordable... also it is not a "pang poor" car.

Guys let's respect each and everyone's opinion here. The looks lies behind the eyes of the beholder. Have peace here. Top Gear please erase those unappropriate words.

Just avoid this one and settle for an Innova G instead which is much better looking or an Isuzu Crosswind.

@boogiecat, I almost agreed when you mentioned that you prefer innova G over this but a crosswind????maybe I just don't get it but I respect your opinion

anung kalokohan yan??ang pangit kaya ng rim mas maganda pa rin porma ng lumang revo SR.....kau anong mas gusto nyo innova SR o yung dating revo SR?

I think this variant was launched because there are still people who thinks that the Innova is still an AUV. As you can see on our roads there are Innova setups that has overfenders, bullbars, roof rails and other AUV accessories slapped to the exterior to make it look like well an AUV. I still prefer the looks of Innova E or G. A simple modification to make your innova look cool is to replace the stock rims (please not the chrome ones) with size 17s and buy a stepboard.
