If you're a World War II buff and you'd like to check out authentic wartime vehicles, make your way to Intramuros on Sunday, March 24, at 4:30pm, since a reenactment of the 1945 Liberation of Manila will be staged on the grounds of the Old PC Cuartel on Santa Lucia Street.
To be staged by Buhay Na Kasaysayan and MD Juan Enterprises in cooperation with the Intramuros Administration, the Department of Tourism, and the HERO Foundation, Inc., the reenactment trains the spotlight on a glorious yet often-neglected period in Philippine history. It is also the very first of its kind to be held in Manila.
Contributing to the reenactment's atmosphere will be authentic vintage military vehicles that will be put on display, and the simulated explosions and battle scenes using pyrotechnics. A recorded narration of the events will be played describing the scenes.
So, if you have time on Sunday, check out the reenactment and find out what your father or grandfather went through during the war.
