The all-new BMW 1-series blends the German carmaker's fun-to-drive driving dynamics with that of a practical compact hatchback package. The result is a small agile sporty hot hatch. The new 1's styling is unmistakable BMW with its large BMW kidney grille, prominent character line, and rear window Hofmeister kink. Thanks to its new front-wheel drive architecture, the new baby Bimmer has more interior space, particularly at the back. As expected from a BMW, it has a driver-oriented cockpit with a dashboard design reminiscent of its bigger brothers.
There are two gasoline engine options for the Philippine market; a 1.5-liter TwinPower turbocharged inline-3 mill (118i) which produces 138hp and 220Nm of torque, and a 2.0-liter TwinPower turbocharged inline-4 unit (M135i) which puts out 302hp and 450Nm of twist. The front-wheel drive 118i comes standard with a seven-speed Steptronic dual-clutch transmission, while the range-topping all-wheel drive M135i xDrive gets a Eight-speed Steptronic Sport tranny.
