This is the new Ford Transit, the American carmaker's global full-size van. While this model may be new to our market, this van has been around in Europe since the 1960s. This European-developed model also replaces the passenger version of the American E150 (Club Wagon) van. Styling is modern with the familiar Ford-face which features a large trapezoidal grille, flanked by sleek headlights. Its tall roof and slab sided body was designed to maximize interior space. The new Transit can seat up to 15 passengers. The large unibody van features a front independent MacPherson strut suspension and a rear live axle with leaf springs. Front and rear disc brakes are standard. Under the Transit's short hood is a 2.2-liter oil-burner which puts out 133hp and 385Nm of torque. Power is sent to the rear wheels through a six-speed manual transmission.
