The XE is Jaguar's entry into the small executive sports sedan segment. Its sleek modern Jaguar styling combines elegance and sportiness. Its design language is reminiscent of its big brother, the XF. Unlike the old FWD-based X-type, the XE is built on a well-balanced rear-wheel drive platform. It also features a lightweight construction which uses 75% aluminum. Styling was updated for 2020, the most noticeable exterior changes are the slimmer LED headlights, wider mesh grille and reshaped bumper. At the back it receives new all-LED taillights which are now also slimmer. Its interior also gets updates, this includes a new steering wheel, a digital gauge cluster, a bigger infotainment screen and a revised center stack and console. The interior door panels have also been updated, it gets new angled grab handles and bigger door storage areas.
There is one engine option, a 2.0-liter inline-4 oil-burner which makes 177hp and 430Nm of torque. It sends power to the rear wheels through an 8-speed automatic transmission. The XE can accelerate from 0-100 km/h in 8.1 seconds and has a top speed of 228 km/h.
