Overview
The Kia Soluto is the latest addition to the Korean carmaker's local vehicle lineup. This new subcompact sedan slots below the subcompact Rio hatchback. The new 4-door model adopts the brand’s new more upmarket design language. Up front it gets a slim tiger nose grille flanked by angular headlights. The lower portion of the front fascia features a large trapezoidal intake with fog lights integrated into its lower corners. Moving on to the sides, it has clean lines and a prominent shoulder crease which runs the length of the vehicle. At the rear it gets angular combination taillights and a license plate recess located on the bumper for a neater look.
Interior layout is reminiscent of the Rio but for the Kia Soluto it features softer lines and round outer AC vents. Its instrument cluster features a digital information display between the large analog tachometer and speedometer. At the center of the dashboard is a standard 7-inch touch screen infotainment with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. All variants get 6-speakers as standard.
Under the Soluto’s hood is Kia’familiar 1.4-liter Dual-CVVT inline-4 gasoline engine which produces 94hp and 132Nm of torque. Power is sent to the front wheels either through a five-speed manual transmission or a 4-speed automatic tranny.
All Soluto variants get driver and passenger SRS airbags, three-point seatbelts for all five occupants, ABS with EBD, and a rear camera. The range topping EX variants gets rear parking sensors.
