The Elise is Lotus's purest model range of roadgoing sports cars. It's compact, lightweight, powered by a 4-cylinder engine, true to Colin Chapman's sports car and race car formula. Its beautiful exterior features curves like an exotic car while its minimalist driver focused interior means business. Every bit of the Elise was designed to enhance performance. The use of lightweight components and omission of some luxuries were done to keep its weight down. Final Edition To mark the last model year of the Elise, Lotus has introduced the upgraded Final Edition variants. Standard features include a TFT digital instrument cluster, a new steering wheel, redesigned seats, and a "Final Edition" build plaque. The old base Sport 220 has been replaced by the new Sport 240.Motivating the Elise is a supercharged 1.8 liter inline-4 engine available in two tunes: 240hp and 244Nm of torque for the new Sport 240 variant, and 245hp and 244Nm of torque for the Cup 250 variant. While horsepower figures might not be that high by sports car standards, its low curb weight gives it good power to weight ratio.
