Mazda injected its zoom-zoom spirit into the traditional rugged pickup truck, the result is the current generation BT-50, a sporty truck with a go-anywhere attitude. For 2017 it receives a bolder grille, restyled headlights & taillights, and new wheels to keep it looking sharp and fresh, Inside it also receives some updates like a console mounted rear-passenger cubby hole, rear center armrest, and on the top 3.2 4x4 variant, a rear view camera with display on the rear view mirror and cruise control.
The same 148hp 2.2-liter inline-4 and 197hp 3.2-liter inline-5 diesel engines continue to power the BT-50. The smaller mill is paired to either a 6-speed manual transmission or a 6-speed automatic transmission, while the bigger oil-burner can only be mated to a 6-speed automatic transmission. RWD is standard on the 2.2, while 4WD is standard on the 3.2.
