Mercedes-Benz's premium compact SUV is back. Now in its second generation, the all-new GLA-class has grown larger than the model it replaces. While its styling is easily recognizable as a Mercedes, the German luxury carmaker's designers made the compact Benz SUV taller to further differentiate it from its A-class hatchback sibling. The changes to its proportions mean the front seats can now be positioned 140mm higher than its predecessor. Visibility has also been improved, thanks to the redesigned pillars. Inside it receives the same familiar high-tech interior found other new generation Benz's.
One engine is offered in the local market, a 1.3-liter turbocharged gasoline mill which produces 163hp and 250Nm of torque. Power is sent to the front wheels through a 7G seven-speed dual-clutch transmission.
