Overview
Meet the new Boxster and new Cayman, both models now fall under the new "718" model name. The Boxster draws inspiration from the open top mid-engined Porsche 718 racecars of the late 1950s and early 1960s, while the Cayman draws inspiration from the closed coupe Porsche racecars of the 1960s. The new 718 models combine the best of both worlds, sharp handling and comfort. Both have evolved into more refined machines.
Both the Boxster and Cayman are available with two turbocharged flat-4 gasoline engines, the 300hp 2.0-liter turbo, and the higher-output 350hp 2.5-liter turbo for the "S" variants. Both come with Porsches's 7-speed PDK dual-clutch transmission..
