In 2018 Ssangyong introduced the second generation Musso mid-size pickup. This truck is based on the Korean carmaker's new Rexton mid-size SUV. It made its local debut at the 2018 Philippine International Motor Show. The Musso is a very modern looking mid-size pickup that inherits its SUV sibling's upmarket styling. The Musso's most distinctive styling element though is how its separate box was designed to look clean and integrated into the cab. Inside it has a neatly arranged contemporary looking dashboard. It features an instrument cluster with analog gauges and a central digital display. At the center of the dash is an integrated touch screen flanked by large angular vertical vents. Like most mid-size pickups, the Ssangyong Musso uses a ladder-type chassis. It comes standard with a rear coil spring suspension, something not too common in its segment. Another feature we don't see to often in this segment is its standard four-wheel disc brakes.Under its hood is a 2.2-liter e-XDi 220 inline-4 turbodiesel which pumps out 179hp and 420Nm of torque. It's mated to a six-speed automatic transmission, 4x2 (rear-wheel drive) is standard.New for 2019 is the Musso Grand which features a longer pickup bed. It can be ordered with 4x2 and 4x4. The Grand version's rear suspension uses leaf springs in place of the coil springs found in the standard length Musso.
