Fastforward to 2019 and the Rexton has landed on Philippine shores. At 4850 mm long, 1960 mm wide, and 1800 mm tall, it’s longer, wider, and a tad lower than its predecessor. It features a longer boxier silhouette which replaces its predecessor’s stubby curvy shape. Inside it adopts a clean modern design with an integrated touch screen flanked by vertical central AC vents. The range topping variant get's an instrument cluster with a 7-inch LCD screen. Powering the new Rexton is a 2.2-liter variable turbo diesel mill which puts out 181hp and 420Nm of torque, this is mated to a seven-speed automatic transmission. It's available with four-wheel-drive (higher trim) and two-wheel drive (lower trim). The new Rexton rides on a new Quad-Frame which features 5Gpa giga-steel and 63% high-strength steel. The result is a stronger construction without the unwanted additional weight.
