Overview

The Suzuki Celerio made its global debut in late 2008 in India as the A-Star, the more upmarket alternative to the entry-level kei-car-derived Alto. The first-generation Celerio reached Philippine dealerships in 2009. Compared with its cheaper sibling, it was larger, safer, and noticeably more modern with a European-inspired body design reminiscent of the French mini-cars of the decade.

In 2014, the larger more practical second-generation Celerio was introduced in India; it was officially launched in the local market in August 2015.

For 2022, the Japanese carmaker has given the Celerio a total makeover. The all-new third-generation Suzuki Celerio adopts a more dynamic curvy design Suzuki calls ‘Liquid Expression.’ Its defined flared wheel arches and shoulders give it a sportier more athletic look. Inside, it features a contemporary interior with a more sculpted dashboard. The centerpiece is the 6.2-inch touchscreen flanked by vertical AC vents.

Powering the third gen Celerio is a 1.0-liter K10C Dualjet inline-3 gasoline engine which puts out 66hp and 89Nm of torque. This mill is mated to either a five-speed manual transmission or an Auto Gear Shift (AGS) automated manual tranny. Like other new small Suzukis, the Celerio now uses the modern Heartec Platform.

All Celerio variants get dual airbags, ABS, and electronic stability control.
