The Corolla Cross is the Japanese carmaker's newest small crossover. It slots between the traditional sub-compact crossover SUVs and traditional compact sports utility vehicles. The most distinctive design feature of the vehicle is its oversized trapezoidal grille which dominates the front end. Its bulging front fenders and wide haunches give this urban runabout a muscular feel. Its interior on the other hand closely resembles that of its sedan sibling, the Altis. The Corolla Cross 1.8 G is powered by a 1.8-liter gasoline inline-4 motor which produces 138hp and 172Nm of torque. Both variants come standard with a continuously variable transmission. This front-wheel drive crossover has independent MacPherson strut suspension up front and a torsion beam at the rear.
