This is the Prius C, for those curious, that "C" stands for "city". It's a Prius which comes in a more maneuverable urban-friendly subcompact hatchback package. Although there are some Prius-esque design cues, it's overall styling is much more conventional than its bigger sibling. Thanks to its wind-cheating shape, it's capable of having a decent-for-a-small-hatchback 0.28 coefficient of drag. Inside it gets a fully digital gauge cluster (which one would expect from a Toyota hybrid) and a 6.5-inch central touchscreen (something that's now becoming common in conventional subcompacts.
The Prius C is powered by a 98hp 1.5-liter gasoline Atkinson cycle mill and a 45Kw (60hp) electric motor. Like most hybrids, this is connected to a continuously variable transmission.
