The Tharu is Volkswagen's new compact SUV. In terms of size, it's positioned just above the subcompact T-Cross. The Tharu's styling is unmistakably Volkswagen. Up front, it features a sporty honeycomb grille flanked by large headlight clusters. Moving to the sides, it gets squarish wheel arches reminiscent of the ones on the large VW Atlas. At the rear, it gets slim horizontal taillights linked together by an LED strip. 

Under the hood of the Tharu is a 1.5-liter turbocharged gasoline engine which puts out 158hp and 250Nm of torque. Power is sent to the front wheels through a seven-speed dual-clutch transmission.
