2019 Volvo XC40

Overview

Meet the new 2019 XC40; this is the Volvo's first ever compact premium SUV. While easily recognizable as a Volvo, the Swedish carmaker's designers gave the small sports utility vehicle its own flavor. Some of its distinctive features are its boxy profile, clamshell hood, unique rear window shape and the seam on the C-pillars which allows it to have a contrasting roof color on some variants. Its interior is pure Volvo; it features a digital instrument cluster and the brand's trademark vertical touchscreen flanked by narrow tall central AC vents. 

The Volvo XC40 is offered with three engines in the Philippine market; a 2.0-liter oil-burner which produces 148hp and 320Nm of torque (D3), a turbocharged 1.5-liter gasoline motor which produces 163hp and 265Nm of torque (T3), and a turbocharged 2.0-liter gasoline mill which puts out 244hp and 350Nm of torque (T5). All powerplants are mated to an eight-speed Geartronic automatic transmission. All-wheel drive is standard on the high-output T5, while lesser variants come standard with front-wheel drive.
