Rust 'N' Pieces

Who called the police?

Wait, the police called you! I hate starting posts with "It's been a while since I last posted..." so I will go straight into my coverage of this really cool old-school gathering that happened a few weeks ago. I know, I know, it's late! Col. Gilbert Cruz of the Philippine National Police put together an event for the anniversary of the Police Community Relations Group, and being an old-school enthusiast himself, he decided to call his buddies from the Old-Schooler Auto Club for a car show at the Camp Crame Grandstand. Col. Cruz hopes to eventually restore some of the old squad cars that were used by the PNP, and in fact, there were already a few on display. "One of our projects showcases our old patrol cars, like '81 Corollas, '79 Nissan Cedrics, and other patrol cars from back then," he shares. Among the rides on display were Gilbert's very own. I will save photos of them for a later post, but for now, here's what I saw. The whole-day event saw hundreds of attendees who dropped by to check out the festivities. You've got to hand it to the fellaz who put the event together because everyone was quite impressed. Click on the thumbnails to enlarge the photos. [gallery link="file" columns="4"] Of course, full support was shown by the members of the Old-School Pilipinas Forum, and it was finally a chance for me to meet some of the you guys and take photos of your rides. Keep checking on this blog for a few surprises. Guys, you know who you are! You ready to have your faces posted on Rust 'N' Pieces? Until the next posts! This ought to be fun!
