Hi, Botchi!
I'm an avid reader of Top Gear Philippines magazine. Keep up the good work!
I just want to know which of these vehicles is the most fun to drive and has the best bang for the buck: Subaru Forester 2.0X, Mitsubishi Outlander 2.4, or the new Hyundai Tucson IX 2.0.
Hope you can help me choose wisely. Thanks!
Regards,
Alvin
Hey there, Alvin!
Thanks for the vote of confidence! Hearing you say that makes us want to all work better and harder, and think up of more out-of-the-box ideas for features and stories.
Regarding your question, if you will be sticking with the specific engine options you mentioned in each car, we might have a problem.
I've yet to drive the all-new Hyundai Tucson. It looks good and specs seem impressive as always with CRDi diesel engines and VGT turbo technology that help make for a very broad power curve. This should be the most fun but I cannot say so for sure until I get behind the wheel of one. Know more about the 2010 Hyundai Tucson in the January/February issue of Top Gear Philippines magazine.
The Subaru Forester 2.0 is disappointing--unworthy of the Subaru badge and Symmetrical AWD system it carries being grossly underpowered (well for me, at least).
The Outlander 2.4 is decent, comfortable, composed and highly competent, but not exactly exciting.
If you can stretch your budget to a Subaru Forester 2.5 XT, you'd enjoy the most fun of all SUVs!
Good luck and keep us posted!
