See, the Jazz—the OG hatch that the five-door City is now replacing—stayed in Honda Cars Philippines’ (HCPI) for almost two decades before the dreaded announcement was made. It developed quite a fanbase, and it’s one that the City Hatchback will aim to please.
Will it be able to? The answer isn’t simply yes or no. Some might prefer this City’s design, while some would rather have the fourth-generation Jazz from Japan. Some would be content with the City Hatchback’s 1.5-liter gasoline mill derived from the sedan, while others may be longing for something new from an entirely new model.
Then again, it’s not like we still have a choice anyway, because it looks like we’re going to be stuck with this one for the long run. So, instead of sulking until the Jazz makes its return (assuming it would even happen), let’s all just take a closer look at the new hatchback that HCPI has decided to give us.
