Is the Suzuki Celerio worth the P708k starting price?

Suzuki Philippines (SPH) recently shook things up with the launch of the all-new Celerio. Its arrival marked the addition of yet another affordable offering to the carmaker’s local lineup.

The new Suzuki Celerio brings with it a highly fuel-efficient 1.0-liter three-cylinder gasoline engine that generates 66hp and 89Nm of torque. Suzuki claims this powertrain can do up to 28.25km/L—a huge, huge plus for car buyers considering how oil prices have shot up these days.

The Celerio’s pricing, however, is rasing some eyebrows. The subcompact hatchback with the manual gearbox is priced at P708,000, while the one with the automated manual or the AGS (auto gear shift) goes for P758,000. It’s actually not that bad, but it looks a bit pricey compared with the sub-P600,000 S-Presso.
