Apple Studios has confirmed it is working on a new Formula 1 film by the director of Top Gun: Maverick Joseph Kosinski. Brad Pitt will star, and seven-time F1 champion Sir Lewis Hamilton will be producing it.
Everyone on board? Good. Kosinski, of course, comes with his afterburners fully lit following the global smash of the hugely excellent Top Gun sequel (that features some of the wildest action sequences ever committed to cinema). If he can handle aerial dogfights, a few F1 cars doing 320kph should be a breeze.

The story is said to revolve around Pitt’s character coming out of retirement to race alongside a rookie against “the titans of the sport.” Sounds broadly familiar…
That’s yer lot as far as the story goes—at this early stage, it’s mainly just a movie name-drop: director (Kosinski), producers (Hamilton, Bruckheimer, Plan B Entertainment), screenwriter (Ehren Kruger), and of course, Apple Studios.
