After teasing us for (what felt like) decades, Chevrolet Philippines has finally brought the Corvette to the Philippine market. A red Corvette Stingray is on display until November 28 at the 2018 Chevrolet Motorama held at SM Megamall.
Like we said yesterday, the price of this Corvette Stingray with the 3LT package is P8,546,888. This makes it about P1.8 million more expensive than a Nissan GT-R, which is a rather strange comparison that social-media commenters keep making. It’s all about preference for cars like these, and you can’t put a price tag on desire.
“We are extremely proud that the Corvette’s first launch in Southeast Asia is happening in the Philippines,” said Atty. Alberto B. Arcilla, president and managing director of Covenant Car Company. “As we preview the legendary sports car in the country—on its 65th anniversary, no less—we are happy to provide the market with a driving experience like no other.”
A Corvette is a Corvette, and once you see one, you instantly ‘get it’ or not. Looking at the sexy sports car during its launch, we felt that it was certainly worth the wait.
