Have you seen ghosts floating over fields by the highway? Or had uninvited passengers appearing and disappearing inside your car? Even if you don’t have your own ghost story to tell, we’re sure you’ve heard some from your family and friends.

These stories give you the spooks when you remember them as you’re driving alone. On a dark, empty road. At midnight. Making your hair stand on end...

Just to get into the, uh, spirit of things this Halloween and All Souls’ Day, we asked you on Facebook about any paranormal encounters you’ve had on the road—and you guys delivered. You know you don’t need to read these tales. But you can, just because you’re curious or you need a little scare. Or maybe you need some validation that you’re not really alone...even when you think you are.

John Bernard Toledo Argana: “I had one on Giraffe Street in Green Meadows. Before, madilim talaga dun, ’di ganun kaliwanag ang ilaw sa poste. It was 2am and I decided to take Green Meadows then Giraffe to get to EDSA since Ortigas was full of trucks. I saw a woman standing sa kanto ng Giraffe. I ignored her, which was my greatest mistake. After a few seconds, she was sitting right next to me. Staring at me. Giraffe Street is like 300 meters, but with her, it felt like 5km. I was praying and praying while she was staring at me. Then after ko dumating sa Temple Drive, I didn’t know why but I was in tears. Not crying, pero naluha ako sa takot, haha. Since that day, ’di na ako dumadaan sa Giraffe at 2am. That's a golden rule for me na as a graveyard shift Grab driver.”

Love you, Kuya Dick. Mwahhh...love you, tol.

Jed Parohinog: “I was at driving around 100kph to 120kph, past 12 midnight, on Daang Hari. Then suddenly, I saw a glowing lady wearing a white dress and staring at me. From that moment, I set my speed limit to 60kph at night. Drive safe, everyone.”

Ian Christian Martin Aguinaldo: “It was 6am and I had just left home. Upon turning right to the main highway, when I looked over to my left side mirror, a white lady’s face appeared with her hair blocking her face. When I looked again, wala na. I thought sa gabi lang nagpapakita mga white lady, but nakakita ako during daylight. When I told my husband (he has a ‘third eye’) about this incident, he said that he also sees the white lady in that area, always standing at the waiting shed. Shookt!”

Don Henry Bañaga Bolo: “Middle of the road, late night. A thin, tall guy in his late teens wearing black pants and a dark-gray shirt with long sleeves was standing absolutely stiff and motionless. As I got nearer, his image slowly faded away in place, like a masked overlay in Photoshop. But this was really happening. I’m thinking that the area might be the very spot where he got killed. And those were the clothes he wore as he lay in his coffin.”

Cynthia Ednilao On: “On our way back to Manila from Ilocos Norte, sa parte ng Damortis, La Union, sa pakurba-kurbang parte doon, may babaeng nakaputi na tumalon sa harap ng sasakyan namin. Parang gusto niya kaming disgrasyahin.

From 120kph, menor ako to 60kph—baka biglang tumawid at madisgrasya ako. This was after the viaduct.”

Jeldjeann Seno: “Nung nasa Camiguin kami with my family, past 10pm, naghahanap kami ng masahista. May nakita kami sa resort. Pinasakay namin. Wrong way ako. It was pitch-dark sa labaswala ni isang bahay sa paligid. Kailangan ko bumalik sa dating way, so nag-reverse ako. I asked yung masahista kung may narinig siyaWala raw. Waaaaah.
