Last week, we asked our rider-readers where they usually take a break mid-journey and freshen up. After all, long bike trips can leave us all sticky and sweaty. You can splash water on your face or change into something dry, but you’ll want to do it somewhere clean and that doesn’t smell.
We’ve compiled the most helpful responses so that other riders—and other road users, for that matter—know where they can make a pit stop along the way should you need it.
At the top of the list of recommendations are Shell gas stations.
“Shell SLEX Northbound Mamplasan has aircon, sounds, air freshener, and good lighting.” – Juan Fidel Rodriguez
“Shell San Fernando, Pampanga. May P10 bayad nga lang, pero pwede mong gamitin yung coupon sa Select store nila. Sulit mag-stay sa loob, naka-aircon pa.” – Raniel Ibanez
“Shell Dumaguete City. Very clean (and has a) well-furnished interior.” – Jickson Lloyd Hsu
“Almost all Shell stations in Cebu.” – Kelly Lucenara Ouano Secretario
“Shell Tagaytay, sa harap ng nagsarang Sinangag Express.” – CJ Alcoy
“Shell Katipunan, going to White Plains.” – Alain de Leon
“Shell Catbalogan.” – JI Ibañez
“Shell Daang Hari.” – Neth Soriano
“Shell Edison, Makati City.” – Ace Vargas
Clean Fuel lives up to its name and comes in a close second.
“Clean Fuel sa Lemery, may bidet at aircon.” – Jhon Nerio Abad
“Clean Fuel Rosario, La Union, is air-conditioned. Mas malinis pa sa bahay niyo, pwedeng-pwede ka nang matulog, ha ha!” – Nicole Gianmari
Apparently, Petron facilities are also well-maintained.
“Petron Stations in Davao City. Very clean and sanitized.” – Ron Cabellon
“Petron Campetic in Palo, Leyte. May shower pa and parang mamahalin ang style ng comfort room.” – Charlston B. Requiez
“Petron SLEX Southbound, after San Pedro Exit.” – Kenjie Mendoza
Some riders either vouched for other gas stations or have more than one go-to pit stops.
“Centrum Fuel sa Pangasinan at Ilocos.” – Jay R Apilado Marcella
“Flying V, sa tapat ng Nissin sa may Balibago, Santa Rosa, Laguna.” – Emman Noel Tibayan
“All Phoenix stations.” – Gado De Borja David
“PTT the best sa linis.” – Gabriel Flores
“Shell Malolos and PTT TPLEX.” – Joselito Soto Lasin Jr.
“Petron NLEX Lakeshore Mexico, Pampanga, and PTT SCTEX Concepcion, Tarlac.” – Ely Enriquez

“Lakeshore NLEX Northbound, sa likod na CR. Although usually maaga kami dumadaan kaya konti pa tao.” – Richard Sagpao
“There’s this station near the C5 South Exit. May bidet para sa mga [mag-na-number two]. Ang bango at may artwork pa. Super sosy.” – Mai Aydinan
