The all-new Toyota Vios flaunts a nicer design, an improved interior and a better ride. Want to know what else the subcompact sedan comes with? A more expensive price tag.

At P1,095,000, the new top-of-the-line 1.5 G Prime variant is considerably pricier than the previous model's TRD version. You get plenty of new niceties, among them an upgraded 7-inch touchscreen infotainment system and a better sound system. But that cost is going to make many think twice about going high-end here--especially considering this nameplate's success has always hinged largely on its attainability and bang-for-the-buck package.

If you're a little iffy on shelling out a premium for the Vios 1.5 G Prime, you might want to check out its bigger brother, the Corolla Altis. Surprisingly, the compact sedan's base manual variant is significantly more affordable at just P961,000. That's over P100,000 less than the Vios Prime, but of course, the Altis isn't all-new.

If it comes down to age, the Vios wins. But performance and space-wise, it'd be a crime not to consider moving up a segment.

Having trouble deciding between the two Japanese sedans? Maybe a spec-by-spec breakdown will help. Check out the info below, then let us know in the poll which once of the two you'd go with.
