We first asked Marc Abasolo if he is an artist by profession after he sent us his art pieces. But we were surprised when he said that he is a businessman, and he draws and paints cars as a hobby.
“Cars are a big source of inspiration to me, and whenever I draw, it’s more than just laying down different kinds of medium on a clear board,” shared Marc. “It’s my way of ‘writing’ down a dream and prayer for me, but instead of words, I draw them.”
It takes Marc at least a day to finish a car, but it also depends on the number of details the car has. He uses his ProMarkers and BrushMarkers, but also he also uses acrylic as a medium for his art.
Marc shared that this hobby started when he was a young boy and that he has always loved cars. He has a broad selection of favorite automobiles: supercars, ’50s to ’70s American and European classics, full-size luxury SUVs, sedans, and trucks. He admitted that the Hennessey Velociraptor 6x6 took the most effort to draw for him because, “it had a lot more detail than the average car and it also has an extra set of wheels, too!”
The businessman/hobbyist said that apart from having a basic art tutor at home for a week or so when he was seven, he didn't receive any formal training for his craft. “It's really just passion, self-learning throughout the years with different books and other platforms. And practicing every day," said Marc.
