A while back, Ammo NYC was commissioned by Jim Glickenhaus himself to give the Baja-winning Boot its first detailing job. Now, Mr. Glickenhaus has once again employed the services of Larry Kosilla and his crew, this time for the famed Ferrari P4/5.
Glickenhaus wants to get the P4/5 back in tip-top shape before it makes an appearance at Pebble Beach, the same place where the car made its debut more than a dozen years ago. Now, that doesn’t mean the one-off supercar is in bad condition, but it’s no longer in its flawless state, either, since Glickenhaus drives this car regularly—no matter the weather. It was even mentioned at one point in the video that the guy even takes this out on grocery runs, which is wicked cool.
Proof of this was the slight wear and tear on the car’s body and paint which were clearly from regular use and not from neglect. The usual watermarks and common stains were there, but there weren’t any dents, major scratches, or rotting parts.
This isn’t as insane as some of the dirty detailing jobs that we often share here—such as this nasty 1974 Bricklin SV-1—but the clip gives a different kind of satisfaction altogether. It’s not every day that you get to see a unicorn such as this get a thorough wash, right?
As always, the results were spectacular. You can check out the full video below.
