Who wouldn’t want to be tall if given the choice? You can reach the top shelf without having to grab a box, you’re able to change light bulbs without the help of a ladder, and, as in the case of towering Philippine Basketball Association (PBA) center Greg Slaughter, you can carve a real career for yourself shooting hoops.
It isn’t always easy, though, and growing up with a major size advantage can be rough when it comes to motoring.
We aren’t just talking about having to squeeze your gigantic frame into a normal-sized car, either. Even renewing your license requires an adjustment. Just ask seven-foot-tall Slaughter, who took to Instagram stories to share one of the struggles of being having a major height advantage.
The dude literally had to squat in order to have his photo taken for his Land Transportation Office (LTO) license renewal. “License renewal photo be like…” the text on his Instagram story reads.
Slaughter isn’t the only basketball player out there who’s had to make motoring-related adjustments because of his size. National Basketball Association (NBA) all-time great Shaquille O’Neal once had to modify his Ferrari F335 Spider just so he could fit inside it. And we can imagine athletes of this height get slim pickings when it comes to the kinds of rides they can buy, too.
Stooping down for license requirements? We think we’d be fine with that. Being unable to fit inside cars, though? Probably not. How about you guys?
