Let's get this out of the way: The paint job is not for everyone. It's sure to spark arguments. But hey, it works for the owner, and that's all that really matters.

This started out life as a 1991 Toyota Land Cruiser 80. It was brought to 4x4 aftermarket specialist Jeff's Off Road--the same shop that had worked on Doug Kramer's Isuzu MU-X

The first thing that strikes you about this SUV is, well, the head-turning orange exterior color. "The paint job was requested by the owner," shares Jeff's Off-Road proprietor Jeffrey Go Cu.

The next thing you'll notice is the height. According to Cu, the ride has been lifted 6 inches with Dobinsons springs and suspension. The shop's custom-made drop kit was also installed. Also custom-made are the bumpers and the side rails.

Before they could do any of the modifications, the vehicle had to be restored first, including its body and engine.

The overall cost of the project? A staggering P1,700,000. A little less than a brand-new FJ Cruiser.
