Yes, the all-new Kia Rio is Korean. But from afar, you'd be forgiven for mistaking the subcompact hatchback for a German-made vehicle on account of its solid, elegant design and clean, simple lines. That's a compliment, of course, as the Europeans are some of the best in the business when it comes to aesthetics.
Even better is the way the vehicle is as nice to sit in as it is to look at. The minimalist interior features soft touch materials, and while there may be a bit of plastic, it's applied in a way that exudes a cool, classy style. Everything in here blends together pretty nicely, and we wouldn't mind being stuck in traffic in this cabin one bit.
The best part? Kia has taken steps to make this a driver-centric car as well. The steering wheel feels great to hold, there are plenty of features accessible via on-wheel controls, the gauges and information panel are clean and easy to read, and controls and dials are all tactile and well within reach of the driver.
