On October 8, 2021, Malacañang announced that children below 18 years old are now allowed to travel outside Metro Manila to areas under GCQ and MGCQ. However, this is limited to point-to-point travel, depending on the guidelines and health protocols implemented by the Department of Tourism and local governments.

Despite these provisions, it’s understandable that some parents are still wary of taking their kids outside. But if your children badly want a feel of the outdoors, dining inside the car might just be the compromise you are looking for. 

Here are seven destinations where you can enjoy great food with the kids:

1) Mimi & Bros

Located in Bonifacio Global City, Mimi & Bros offers a fully automated ordering system so you’re assured of a safe and contactless experience. Just enter the parking lot, scan the QR code on their standee, and follow the order and payment instructions.

The restaurant offers kid-friendly fare like Corn Dogs, Mimi’s Fried Chicken Sandwich and, Double Cheese Smash Burger. They also have bigger meals like Chicken Karaage, Bros’ Bagnet, Chubby Cheeks Pork Sisig, and Triple B and Shrimp Props.

2) Bamba Bistro

This neighborhood resto in BF Homes, Paranaque, transformed the empty parking lot across theirs into an alternate dining space for their patrons. They have drive-in kits with special trays, utensils, plates, water, and glasses.

Try their Bamba Burger, Morning After Sandwich, and Le Cochon Sliders (made with Lechon!). They also offer pasta like Spaghetti Bolognese and Spaghetti Carbonara.

Hungry? Their main courses include Baby Back Ribs, Buttermilk Fried Chicken, and 24-hr Porkbelly. Yum!

3) Drive-by Taco Shop

Another store in Paranaque offers “drive and dine trays,” which is an attachment that fits comfortably on your car’s steering wheel. They offer a wide variety of tacos, burritos, quesadillas, and nachos. They even have all-day Mexilog rice meals.

4) Beeffalo by Hotrocks

The restaurant claims to offer the first park and dine service in Marikina City. They’re known for their juicy steaks and baby back ribs, but kids can enjoy their Chicken Barbecue and Beeffalo Fried Chicken if they want rice meals. They also offer kid-friendly fare like biscuit pizzas, pasta, nachos, quesadillas, and potato wedges.

5) Hackensack

This ’50s-inspired diner in Quezon City serves burgers, hotdog sandwiches, wings, and rice meals you can enjoy inside the comfort of your car. Try their bestselling cheeseburgers and hotdog sandwiches!

Customers who opt to dine inside the car are given food trays that they can hang on their car windows to serve as a dining table. You can also place the food trays on your lap!

7) Big G Family Mart

This Korean grocery store located in Malolos City, Bulacan allows you to enjoy their snacks inside your car — just let them know when you order so you can get your food in a tray. They have noodles, bread, and other Korean snacks, plus ice cream and drinks! They also have a Squid Game challenge available if you’re interested in getting free Honeycomb sugar candy.
