The words ‘Mini’ and ‘Monte Carlo’ share a unique history. In the ’60s, the inimitable John Cooper decided to make his pedestrian small car into a track-ready machine. The result was a string of championships at the Monte Carlo Rally, then one of the toughest rallies known to man.
This new car is a tribute to those victories. It’s the Mini Monte Carlo Edition, a Cooper S with livery and badging that hark back to the brand’s motorsport glory. Only 20 of these cars will be sold, all of them through Lazada. And only for 24 hours on November 11. So the car is not only special, it’s also going to be a rare find in years to come.
Under the hood is a 2.0-liter turbocharged gasoline engine with 192hp and 280Nm. The Monte Carlo Edition’s unique features include Union Jack taillights, the iconic Number 37 used by Paddy Hopkirk, and scuff plates that read ‘One of Twenty’ to let everyone know that this is a limited-edition ride.
