Swiss watchmaker Oris has just launched a trio of all-new motorsport-themed mechanical wristwatches that are sure to get racing fans reaching for their wallets. The watches were developed in partnership with the official Audi motorsport team and Williams F1, and feature designs and styles intended to reflect the professionalism and passion of their respective teams.
The Oris Audi Sport Limited Edition II was inspired by the Audi R18 e-Tron Quattro, the vehicle that won the 24 Hours of Le Mans endurance race in 2014. It features the car's unmistakable silhouette on the rear side of its multipiece titanium case, and is sapphire crystal-domed on both sides. Its automatic chronograph can count down from up to 10 minutes--handy for drivers obsessed with keeping track of race times. Durability-wise, this timekeeper is scratch-resistant and water-resistant for up to 100m. Only 2,000 pieces of this model were made.
Meanwhile, the two Williams F1 watches--the Williams Chronograph and the Williams Day Date--were each designed in the shape of a Williams F1 car. Their crowns were engineered to resemble the wheel from the car's wheelbox, while the chronograph's sub-dials take their cue from instrument panels found inside Williams racing cars. Both watches have flat sapphire crystals with anti-reflective coating, and are water-resistant for up to 100m. The pair is powered by automatic movements visible through sapphire-crystal case backs.
The Audi Sport Limited Edition II can be had for P139,450, while the Williams Chronograph and the Williams Day Date carry P106,790 and P52,830 price tags, respectively. Again, the Audi Sport timepiece is limited in stock so you might want to nab one while you still can.
