The nomenclature--or system of giving names--we use for our streets is very diverse. We have streets named after local politicians, US presidents, countries, planets, fruits, flowers, trees, historic dates, even virtues. And yes, we do have streets named after car brands and models. Something we just take for granted.
But apparently this is all very amusing to American car enthusiasts, as this very fact was pointed out on Jalopnik, an automotive blog in the US. A reader (or staff member...we\'re not really sure) of that blog supposedly stumbled upon this entertaining bit of trivia via Google Maps.
If we\'re not mistaken, this patch of terra firma is Village East Executive Homes in Cainta, Rizal. Inside this subdivision can be found streets with such names as Accord, Ascona, Audi, Bentley, BMW, Buick, Camaro, Capri, Caprice, Celica, Charger, Citroen, Cobra, Corolla, Corona, Cougar, Courier, Crown, Eagle, Escort, Ferrari, Fiat, Fiero, Galant, Golf, Holden, Hyundai, Jaguar, Jensen, Lancer, Lancia, Legend, Lynx, Mirage, Pajero, Peugeot, Porsche and Pulsar.
Whew! It\'s safe to assume the developers of this subdivision are passionate car lovers. Wouldn\'t it be cool to be able to say you reside at 911 Porsche Street? We bet that would be a one-of-a-kind pick-up line.
