We had come across another cool car that is worthy of a look. Who isn't a fan of the Chevrolet Corvette? These are absolutely gorgeous and quite rare in the Philippines. That long sloping hood combined with a short rear deck makes for an unforgettable profile.
Not everyone is a fan of this American car, but we go nuts over it. It is the anti-Miata, because of its high horsepower motor. The Corvette is home to the LS-series of engines that are bulletproof. Pushrods still operate the valve, and yet this old-school approach still has advantages over the more common overhead camshaft motors. Way too cool.
The one you see here is a 60th Anniversary convertible, and it is going for P4.98 million. Whoa. But it is fitted with a manual transmission, and that alone makes it worth the asking price--at least for stick addicts like us. Hah!
Here's what the Corvette Museum website has to say about this particular model: "The 2013 Corvette 427 Convertible Collector Edition is the 60th Anniversary Package that will be available on all 2013 Corvette models. The 2013 model year will be historic for Corvette, marking its 60th Anniversary and the final year for the current ‘C6’ generation. There couldn’t be a more fitting way to celebrate these milestones than by bringing back one of the most-coveted combinations in the brand’s history--the Corvette convertible and a 427 cubic-inch engine.”
Here's the post: Corvette 60th Anniversary; P4.980M manual transmission; automatic convertible; 7.0-liter V8 Ls7 engine; limited yellow; collector's item; good condition.
