Before the new year, the Department of Transportation (DOTr) gave word that they were set to finally implement some hard ground rules on car tints in 2018. The reason, they explained, was that traffic enforcers were having a hard time enforcing the high-occupancy vehicle (HOV) lane along EDSA because some cars' windows were too dark to see inside.
When we reported this development, the reactions from you guys were mixed. Some rejoiced the ruling, saying that dark tint can seriously impair your visibility especially at night. Others said that letting more light into their cabins would be a security risk because the tint was the only thing stopping muggers from identifying them as potential targets.
So, now we're turning the discussion over to you guys once again. The DOTr said that the ruling will be finalized within this quarter. They actually invited us to attend a consultation meeting along with other members of the media. What's your final stand on this rule? Answer the poll below, and let us know your thoughts in the comments. We'll do our best to share them with the people in charge.
What do you think about the proposed rules on car tint?
Yes, I'm all for it! No more slow-moving cars at night!
Hell no! Ayusin niyo muna yung (insert other motoring issue here)!
Wait, what's happening?
