Did you go there during the holidays?

Long weekends are supposed to be about two things, and two things only: rest and relaxation. It isn’t every day that a working adult’s schedule opens up like this, so naturally, we want to make the most of it.

“What better way to chill than with a quick drive up to Tagaytay for a hot meal, some cold air, and a great view?”

That’s the right thought, all right—10 to 15 years ago. These days? Frankly, you’re likely to spend hours on end stuck in traffic and tearing you hair out before even catching a glimpse of Taal Lake. And once you’re in the city proper? Cars, condos, and jam-packed parking lots.

It’s a lot to take in, and even more so if you managed to experience Tagaytay during its heyday in the ’90s. Urban development has its share of advantages: more accommodations, a kickass Starbucks branch, and even a giant ferris wheel (hooray?). But we’ll always prefer open roads, clean air, a fun drive, and a simple bowl of hot bulalo over these relatively minor conveniences.

With all this in mind, do you guys think the drives up to Tagaytay is still worth the trouble? Let us know by answering the poll below:
